Dr. Kübra YILDIRIM KHAN received her undergraduate education in Turkish Language and Literature at Istanbul University. She then went on to complete her master's and doctoral studies in Turkish Language at the Faculty of Literature at the same university. She subsequently worked as a Research Assistant for 3 years in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Istanbul Kültür University.
She received her education in teaching Turkish to foreigners in a programme (in Ankara) jointly organised by Yunus Emre Institute and Ankara University and started to work as the Education Co-ordinator at the London Yunus Emre Institute in 2014. She organised various courses and taught lessons at all levels at the Institute for a period of 7 years. She also organised Turkish courses at Cambridge University Language Centre as part of a partnership agreement with Yunus Emre Institute, and taught the lessons herself between 2017-2020. Whilst teaching at Cambridge University, Kübra also achieved the status of Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
Yıldırım Khan established the School of Turkish online school in 2021 with the aim of spreading the Turkish language and culture to more people throughout the world. As well as spearheading School of Turkish she currently also teaches Turkish to students at the King's Language Centre at King's College London.
